- What’s included in your treatment cost?

- Dental crowns

Sometimes teeth suffer from damaged as a result of decay or trauma. In some cases, a simple filling will repair the problem, but there are times when the damage is too extensive and we need to consider other options.

In these cases, a dental crown is usually a better solution.

What exactly is a dental crown? This is a restorative treatment where your dentist will first remove any decay or damage and then use the remaining section of healthy tooth as a post. This post will securely hold a crown in place, which will act a replacement tooth. Dental crowns at Parkview are extremely strong and highly aesthetic, meaning that your new tooth will be functional, allowing you to eat, bite and chew as normal, and it will be beautiful too, for seamless smile.

- Dental bridges

Sometimes we can use crowns as part of a dental bridge to replace a missing tooth. In these cases, we can anchor a replacement tooth to a crown on either side, thus creating a bridge!

Missing teeth can cause problems with eating and speech, it’s not just about aesthetics. In addition, the teeth on either side of the gap can begin to move, causing problems with your bite. It is important to consider your options to treat the missing tooth, as it is vital for your overall dental health. In some cases, dental implants may be a recommended solution, but a dental bridge can be a cost-effective and less invasive alternative if there is enough healthy tooth structure in place.

- What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are almost invisible. Many of our patients report that their family, friends, and colleagues don’t even notice that they are undergoing orthodontic treatment.

These virtually invisible aligners offer a seamless fit with your lifestyle and day-to-day interactions with others.

Invisalign aligners are removable giving you the flexibility to enjoy your favourite foods and drinks during treatment by simply removing the aligners. You can also take out the aligners to brush and floss as you normally would for fresh breath and to maintain good oral hygiene.

Unlike traditional fixed braces, Invisalign uses no metal brackets or wires. Not only does this mean your orthodontic treatment is invisible, it is also more comfortable. In addition, less time is spent visiting the dental practice for adjustments.

Thanks to the ClinCheck software and our iTero scanner (no messy impressions here!), Invisalign allows you to view your virtual results before you even begin treatment - so you can see how your teeth are expected to look when your treatment is complete.

- Crowns and bridges: Frequently asked questions

  • How much do dental crowns and bridges cost?

The exact cost of your dental crown and bridge treatment at Parkview Dental Centre in Ipswich depends on the size of the tooth being treated. Costs start from £550 and your dentist will be able to explain the price for your individual treatment.

  • Am I suitable for a dental crown?

There needs to be enough healthy tooth structure remaining in order to support a dental crown, so your dentist will carry out a full assessment of your teeth to ensure suitability for treatment. If a dental crown is not an option, dental implants or a denture may be a better option for you.

  • Does it hurt to get a dental crown?

At Parkview our treatment is always carried out in a comfortable and pain-free environment. We will use local anaesthetic to numb the area to be treated and we are also able to offer IV sedation for nervous patients.
